On December 19, 2007 - MS Patient Susan Strachan (diagnosed 1999) had her bi-annual neurological appointment with Dr. Howard Weiner at the Partners MS Center, Brigham and Women's Hospital.

However, this was not her typical visit... Susan presented a $25,000 dollar check from MS Cure Fund, a charity she founded in 2005. It all started when she inquired to Dr. Weiner why there isn't a CURE yet... the answer was simple, not enough funds for research. That's all it took for her to start a charity and dedicate her life to making a difference. Susan's motto is... "Just show up, be positive, and go forward". After that, you've done the best you can do with handling the unpredictability of this disease.

Susan was accompanied by other Partners MS Center patients and MSCF Board members, David McKay (Legal Advisor), Wendy Booker (Marathon runner and mountain enthusiast), and Cheli Rios (IRS advisor). Strachan says, "Everyone has a role in helping MSCF achieve this landmark check presentation - it is a team effort and we rely on each other to balance this battle... everyday".

MS Cure Fund is a National non-profit organization based in Boston, MA started by MS Patients dedicated to create awareness, help educate newly diagnosed patients, and raise much needed research funds. Help MS Cure Fund in its efforts to help find a Cure. Just one person can make a difference... Become that person today and get involved.
